2000-2004: B.S., Thermal and Dynamic Engineering, University of Science & Technology, Beijing

Research Interests:

Thermal fluids, transport phenomena, and energy storage and conversion

Key areas of research include:

  • Multi-physics modeling of solid oxide fuel/electrolysis cells, solar cells, redox batteries, lithium-ion batteries, and zinc-air batteries in mechanical, thermal, and electrical fields.
  • Microstructure modeling and design of functional materials, such as CO2 separation membranes, bifunctional oxygen electrodes, and all-solid lithium-ion batteries.
  • Characterization of material electrochemical properties using impedance spectroscopy analysis, rotating disk electrode, and electric conduction relaxation techniques.
  • Development of mathematical algorithms and model order reduction for solving physics-based lithium-ion battery models in the online control of electric vehicles.
  • System-level integration of renewables with energy storage and conversion systems.
